Luis Tubens, a.k.a “Logan Lu”, is a Chicago born, Puerto Rican spoken word artist and educator. He is the author of “Stone Eagle” published by Bobbin Lace Press in 2014. In 2014 and 2018 he represented Chicago at the U.S. National Poetry Slam. He has toured the U.S., Mexico, and Puerto Rico, and was the feature poet at Spoken Word Istanbul in Istanbul, Turkey and the Slam Colombia Festival Open Mic. As an educator with the Chicago Poetry Center, he held workshops for students in the Chicago Public Schools and residents in jails. He was awarded the “First Voice Award” from the Chicago Center for Urban Life and Culture. Currently, Luis is the resident poet for ESSO Funk (Best New Band and Best International Music Act, Chicago Reader), he is one the organizers of Slam Diáspora, and he is touring his latest production “Raíces to Roots”.
Luis Tubens, también conocido como "Logan Lu", es un artista de poesía en voz alta (spoken word artist) puertorriqueño nacido en Chicago. Es autor del poemario “Stone Eagle”. Representó a Chicago en el Slam de Poesía Nacional de 2014 y 2018. Ha recorrido los Estados Unidos, México (2016 y 2018), Instabul (2022), Puerto Rico (2023), y Colombia (2024). En 2022 recibió el “Premio de Primera Voz” del Centro de Chicago para la Vida y Cultura Urbana. Luis es el poeta de la banda "ESSO Funk". Es uno de los organizadores de "Slam Diáspora", el único slam de poesía en español en los EE. UU. Como educador con el Centro de Poesía de Chicago (Chicago Poetry Center), enseña poesía en varias escuelas públicas y cárceles de Chicago. Actualmente, está recorriendo su última producción teatral Raíces to Roots.
