I am a Chicago born, Puerto Rican spoken word artist and educator. My artistic name comes from the neighborhood where I grew up, Logan Square, Chicago. I started as a slam poet representing Chicago twice in the National Poetry Slams of 2014 and 2018. My poems speak on the socio-political struggle of being Latino in the U.S. I use my poetry in a variety of projects that range from solo performances, to music, to theater. As a spoken artist, I’ve been invited to perform all over the U.S. and internationally including Mexico, Puerto Rico, Turkey, and Colombia. As an educator, I’ve taught poetry in several schools in Chicago and across the United States.
In addition to my performance career I am also a mural guide/historian in the neighborhood of Pilsen, Chicago.
